Members of BSP took part in a rare tour of this private facility as part of the 2009 Tennessee AIA Convention. The Children’s Defense Fund is a national, non-profit child advocacy organization that works at the federal, state, and community levels to ensure a level playing field for all children. CDF Haley Farm is their home for spiritual renewal, character and leadership development, intergenerational mentoring, and interracial and interfaith dialog about children's issues.

The two main structures at this retreat are the Langston Hughes Library, and the Riggio-Lynch Interfaith Chapel, both designed by Maya Lin Studio.
